TEACHERS’ YEARS OF EXPERIENCE AS CORRELATES OF STUDENTS’ ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE IN BASIC TECHNOLOGY IN EDO STATE, NIGERIA
Abstract
The study examined teachers’ years of experience as its correlate academic performance of students in Basic Technology in Edo State. The population of the study consisted of 33 teachers drawn from junior secondary school in Edo State. The sample size of 33 teachers were selected through simple random sampling to achieve the objective of the study, a research question was raised to guide the study. Basic Technology Teachers Factors Questionnaire (BTFQ). The instruments was constructed by the researcher. the findings of the study showed that teacher’s years of experience does not significantly influence academic performance of students in Basic technology in Edo state. it was recommended that government should ensure that only professional and qualified teachers are employed to teach Basic Technology.
