HOME ECONOMICS PROMOTING INTERNET RESOURCES FOR APPAREL ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN CLOTHING AND TEXTILE SECTORS

The study investigated Home Economics in promoting internet resources for apparel entrepreneurship in clothing and textile sectors. The sample for the study is made up of one hundred and fifty (150) students of Home Economics Education. Purposive and stratified random sampling technique will be used to select the one hundred and fifty (150) students from the three (3) sampled institutions. The study employed a descriptive survey research design due to the fact that it enables information to be obtained from a representative sample of the targeted population in order to describe situations as they exist. The instrument used for data collection was a self-structured questionnaires designed by the researchers based on some perceive variables of internet resources, apparel entrepreneur, clothing and textile. Two research questions were raised to guide the study and they were answered descriptively using mean and Standard Deviation. Two research hypotheses were formulated for the study and tested using Pearson Product Moment Correlation (PPMC) and one-way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). Based on the data analysis, findings revealed that there was significant relationship between entrepreneurial skills and Home Economics. It was also found that there was a significant effects of internet resources for apparel entrepreneurship on clothing and textile sectors. The study concluded that Home Economics is significant in promoting internet resources for apparel entrepreneurship in clothing and textile sectors and that internet resources for apparel entrepreneurship has significant effect and contribution to clothing and textile sectors. The study recommended that Government should give adequate attention to entrepreneurial development in the country through the provision of conducive economic environment.
